Who Must Register?
- Goods businesses: turnover > ₹40 lakh (₹20 lakh for special states)
- Service businesses: turnover > ₹20 lakh
- All inter-state suppliers, e-commerce operators, casual taxable persons
Documents Required
- PAN card of entity/proprietor
- Aadhaar of authorised signatory
- Proof of business (incorporation certificate, partnership deed)
- Cancelled cheque / bank statement
- Address proof of principal place of business
- DSC for companies/LLPs
Step-by-Step Process
- Go to gst.gov.in → Services → Registration → New Registration
- Enter state, PAN, email, mobile; verify OTPs → get TRN
- Log in with TRN; fill Part B (business details, promoters, bank, address)
- Upload all documents; submit with DSC/EVC/Aadhaar OTP
- GST officer reviews within 3 working days; GSTIN + REG-06 certificate issued
